Cambridge University Ladies’ Netball Club is one of the University’s most popular and competitive sports clubs. We are unique as the only club founded entirely by women and are still one of the only large sports clubs managed entirely by a committee of women.

CULNC has roughly 45 members and consists of three teams, the Blues (1sts), Jays (2nds), and Swallows (3rds), all of whom play weekly BUCS matches as well as the annual varsity match.

Netball is the largest women’s sport in BUCS and in the UK, with over 300,000 adults playing regularly and 1.4 million playing in any given year.

As a high level, yet entirely student-run, sports club, we rely heavily on annual subscriptions from our members. This covers the costs of court hire, strength and conditioning training, umpiring, transportation and coaching, on top of which members also pay for their own kit, placing a significant financial burden on students.

As a club, we aim to promote high-level women’s performance sport, limited only by skill, not financial circumstance. As such we are seeking alumni support to help meet our ongoing expenses and ensure netball is accessible to all, by keeping subscription costs down.

Your donation could pay for:

  • £20 — a new match ball
  • £25 — a match umpire for an hour
  • £60 — match kit for a player
  • £200 — a club camera to improve our publicity and potential sponsorship opportunities, as well as allowing us to use video analysis to improve our game
  • £1000 — coaching for our Blues and Jays for Michaelmas

Any giving is greatly appreciated and helps to keep netball a high-level yet financially accessible sport at Cambridge University.
