State League
GrainCorp Regional State League – West/Central West is the premier netball competition for the West/Central West area of New South Wales.
It offers two days of competition plus finals for the area’s most talented netballers, coaches, umpires and administrators.
The 2015 State League commenced on Sunday, March 1, with the opening round hosted by Bathurst Netball Association.
A record number of teams are competing this season with the competition expanding to include four divisions – effectively doubling in size from 2014.
Like previous years, Parkes is represented in the competition by a strong young team who played promisingly in the first round.
Parkes fell short in their first game against Forbes but returned serve with a strong defeat over Cowra in their second game.
“We have a strong team this year with a combination of some experienced players and some up and coming younger talent,” Parkes mid-court player, Emma Walker said.
“We are pleased with our efforts in the first round and are looking forward to capitalising in Round 2.”
The competition will continue in Orange on Sunday, March 22.
Saturday Morning Competition
Are you still in primary or high school and wondering what you are going to do on Saturday mornings over Terms 2 and 3?
Why not get a few of your closest friends together and register a netball team?
Teams may be all female or mixed, and coaches are able to be provided for those who are unable to provide their own.
Perhaps a mum or dad would like to coach but are unsure of the rules and how to go about it.
Get them to contact PDNA through the contacts on the website or via social media pages.
PDNA will put them in touch with appropriate people to assist them in their coaching endeavours.
