Double delight for rampant Rangers

FINAL DELIGHT . . . Saddleworth Rangers celebrate victory in the under-16s category, after beating Higginshaw 34-12 in the final.
Rugby League: SADDLEWORTH Rangers clinched two of the four pieces of silverware up for grabs on the Oldham Evening Chronicle Cup Finals day.
The eagerly-anticipated event, jointly sponsored by Rugby Oldham, was blessed with dry weather and a good turnout.
Saddleworth beat Higginshaw 34-12 in the under-16s tie, with Josh Bradbury earning plaudits for his perfomance.
Rangers also won the under-15s category courtesy of a 52-6 victory over Oldham St Anne’s, who hosted the tournament. Brad Grantmyre was man of the match.
Waterhead earned bragging rights in the under-14s section after seeing off Saints 32-10, thanks in no small part to the their best player on the day, Matthew Jackson.
And James Baron was star of the show for Saints’ under-12s, who beat Waterhead 22-8.
The under-13s final between the hosts and Milnrow takes place at the same venue on Sunday (noon-kick-off).
