Barrow And District JFL U12s KO Cup

Furness Cavaliers 3 Holker Old Boys Eagles 1

FURNESS Cavaliers came from behind to complete a hat-trick of trophies with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Holker Old Boys Eagles in the final of the under-12s Barrow And District Junior Football League Knockout Cup.

Despite a strong start from Cavaliers, it was Holker who took the lead on 15 minutes. Goalkeeper Tom Hudson found Ashton Pharoah in space, who played in Gary Joe McGee and the striker beat the defence to fire home for the opener.

Harvey Marshall, Jack Whitehall and Sol Wilding helped kept Cavs out going into half-time, but it was all square 10 minutes after the restart when Jackson Evans latched onto a loose ball and rounded Holker goalkeeper Hudson to score.

Hudson then pulled off a string of fine saves to keep Cavs at bay, but they went ahead when Jake Lamb picked up the ball around 25 yards out and fired into the top corner.

Holker introduced Sam Lowther, Stuart Evans and Harley Webb to freshen things up and they were denied an equaliser after a shot hit the post.

Cavaliers' win was sealed when Luke Davey slotted into the bottom corner, giving Cavs another trophy to go with the Furness FA Cup and the league title.

While Cavaliers celebrated victory, Holker coaches Lee Pharoah and Darren Wilding have bee delighted with the improvements their squad have made in reaching two cup finals and closing in on second place in the league.
