FURNESS Judo Club members continue to impress after a series of competitions this year.
The latest boost for the club saw Harvey Burns selected to fight the North West team at the British National Team Championships at Walsall Sports Academy.
Harvey Burns is one of a number of club members to be in the North West training squad, alongside Lewis Burns, Kavan Burns, Josh Gallagher and Ethan Watson.
The British Team Championships saw regions from across the country compete, with Harvey selected for the under-42kg category.
While the North West team did not qualify out of their pool, Harvey fought with 100 per cent commitment, with his fights going the distance.
He was narrowly beaten by the smallest scores of Yuko, a great effort as he has just moved up into the weight class and was giving away up to 3kg to his opponents.
The youngster will look to learn from the experience as he matures into this weight class and the future looks good for him as he aims to reach the national squads.
His selection was a great feat for his home club, who won a host of medals at the Lancashire Closed Championships.
