A PLAN for an all weather, synthetic crown green bowling green in Eirias Park, Colwyn Bay is being developed by a former Mayor of Llandudno.
Ann Yates said: “I am working with Conwy County Borough Council to ensure this proposal becomes reality. I’ve had a lot of support from bowling clubs from all over North Wales.
“The benefits it would bring are: there would be no time wasted on maintaining for competitions, an extended playing season, savings on expensive chemicals plant and manpower, have in excess of a 10 year life span, it would not require watering or rolling, and it would withstand the rigours of the UK weather.”
She added: “This facility would give year around usage enabling people to be physically active for 12months of the year, allowing them to hone their skills in preparation for the competitive season.”
