Monroe has been one of the biggest hubs for the sport of adult recreational cricket in the Garden State. And finally, their very own high school can say that they are trailblazing a path for youth cricket to thrive, too.

After months of planning, logistics, recruitment, and funding, a student-led effort by Monroe senior Abeer Khan to create a club cricket team became a reality when the Monroe Township Board of Education approved the state’s first-ever high school cricket club of its kind last November.
