Ruislip Bowls Club are appealing for new members to join them as they prepare for the start of the 2024 season.
Having been established more than 100 years ago in 1919, the club was recently hit hard by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, however, they have been slowly rebuilding, with membership now up to 80 individuals and plenty of room for more to join.
New member Guy said: “As someone who had never bowled before, I was a bit intimidated at first, but I soon got lot of practice at ‘roll ups’, where you just turn up on a weekday afternoon and play whoever else is there. There’s no need to know any other players or to arrange your own games.”
An open day will be held at the club’s facilities at Manor Farm from 11am to 2pm on Wednesday, April 24. Anyone thinking of joining up or keen to find out more is welcome to come along. To find out more, visit their website.
