It is the first time in three years that someone other than T2 has taken out the title.
Starlets had been runners up the past two seasons, which made Saturday’s win all the more special.
Captain Jen O’Brien said it took a team effort to get over a very strong T2 side and finally go one better.
“We were so excited, at first we were in a bit of shock,” she said.
“They are a very strong side but all we wanted to do for the past four years is to win a division one grand final.
“Even going into the game we didn’t think it was within our reach but we proved anything can happen on grand final day.”
It was a tense battle throughout, but it was the Starlets that lead from start to finish.
At no point in the match however did their lead exceed five points, ensuring that the crowd remained on the edge of their seats, particularly in the final quarter.
'Our centre Kylie Marshall had a really strong game, she played four quarters on a 24 degree day.'

In the end it was the Starlets defenders that won them the game, denying the likes of Payden Lawson the time and space to get a foot hold in the game with her scoring ability.
Tara Steinbeck and Steph Martyn were particularly good at the back, time and time again stifling T2’s attacking weapons.
“They were the driving force at the back and denied their shooters all game,” O’Brien said.
“Everyone did their job though and played really well which was very pleasing.
“It wasn’t necessarily that they had an off day, we just gelled really well as a team and kept composed.”
Although every player stepped up on the day, there was one player that stood out in mid-court according to O’Brien.
“They played a zone defence up the court and we played our short passing game and that seemed to work in our favour,” she said.
“Our centre Kylie Marshall had a really strong game, she played four quarters on a 24 degree day.
“She was everywhere on the court which is a really hard thing to do.”
With a premiership finally in the bag, Starlets Paragon will be hoping they can create a dynasty of their own in the years to come.
Now that they know what it feels like to lose a grand final there is no doubting however, that Allstars T2 will be back in 2016 keen to avenge this year’s defeat.
