Nobody likes losing, and nobody likes losing comprehensively but when you're getting beaten 22-0 sometimes you just need to laugh, if you don't you'll probably cry.

Cheadle Town FC, who play in the North West Counties Football League, secured a prestigious fixture with the Russian u19's side through club contacts.

And the international starlets weren't messing around, going 1-0 up within four minutes of the kick-off at Mottram Hall.

By half-time the Russians were 9-0 ahead, but they enjoyed an even more productive second half, notching another 13 goals.

Cheadle's official Twitter feed recorded every goal.

They took the result well though and the brief break in 'Goal', 'Goal', 'Goal' for 'WE’VE GOT A CORNER!!' is absolutely amazing.

The club's website and social media manager Karl Florczak told BBC Radio 5 Live: "To be fair, the Russian under 19s national side, as you would expect, were technically superb.

"Today was a one-touch football masterclass. It wasn't great for me, I was constantly tweeting goals that were going in but it was superb to watch."

Asked how the players had taken the loss, he said: "I think time will tell, they were a bit frustrated half way through. There were a few smiles at the end."
