Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) summer adult sports registration opened TODAY, Tuesday, April 23, 2024! Follow the links below to browse upcoming adult sports opportunities and register your team.
You can also register as a free agent if you don’t have a full team, and if you want to stay involved in sports and get paid, consider signing up to be an official!

Volleyball League Registration
Use the links below to sign up for an MPRB summer sand volleyball league.
Sand Volleyball at Wirth Beach
- 9-week season, Sundays-Fridays
- $345 for 4-player teams, $385 for 6-player teams, $770 for doubleheaders
Sand Volleyball at McRae Park
- 7-week season on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays.
- $300 per team, 6-player teams
Grass Volleyball at McRae Park
- Self-officiated leagues
- 9-week season on Tuesdays or Thursdays
- $200 for 4-player teams, $250 for 6-player teams
Volleyball Information
Divisions
- A – Skilled players who understand, but may not have completely mastered the dynamics and strategies of both 5-1 or 6-2 offense.
- B – Players who have learned the basic skills with a team strategy of defense, offense and rotations that will make them successful. (Upper and Lower B divisions are available)
- C – Players who are relatively new to the game of officiated volleyball or in the process of learning basic skills.
Rules
MPRB Volleyball leagues are governed under the rules of USA Volleyball.

Summer Pickleball Leagues
Pickleball League Information
Season
- Summer leagues begin in mid-July and run through September
- Leagues are offered weekly Monday-Thursday, no games on holidays
Divisions
Pickleball skills are rated on a 1-5 scale, with 1 rated as Beginner and 5 rated as a Pro.
- Beginner – Little or no pickleball experience. Skill level 1.0-1.5.
- Beginner Plus – A little experience or have participated in a Beginner League but not ready to move to Intermediate. Skill level 1.5.-2.0.
- Intermediate – Know basic strokes and are working to further skills. Skill level 2.0-2.5.
- Advanced – Ready for formal, competitive organized play. Skill level 3.0-3.5.
Cost
- $100 for 2-person team

Pickleball Lessons
Intro to Pickleball/Intro to Pickleball 2
- Four weeks of two-hour lessons
- Participants will learn the basics of the game and develop skills to advance their pickleball game through drills and strategy
- Cost is $100 per person

Season
- Summer leagues begin in early June and end in August, 9 weeks total
- Leagues are offered weekly on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Locations include at Neiman Sports Complex, Elliot Park and Parade Park
Divisions
- NEW: Co-Ed 6-on-6 for people ages 35+
- Co-Ed 6-on-6
- Co-Ed 11-on-11
- Men’s 11-on-11
- Open 6-on-6
- Women’s 6-on-6
Cost
- $1,075 for 11-person team
- $720 for 6-person team

Tennis Match Play Information
Season
- Six weeks on Tuesdays, July 9-August 20
- Three teams available: Kenwood Park, Lake Hiawatha Park, Powderhorn Park
- Play matches at Kenwood, Powderhorn or Lake Hiawatha Tennis Courts, with the last week being a playoff tournament!
- Doubles, Mixed-Doubles and Singles tennis available
- Cost is $35 per person

Tennis Lessons
Summer Tennis in Your Park
Season
- Nine weeks, June-August
- Leagues are offered weekly Saturdays-Thursday, no games on holidays
- Cost is $135 per person
Divisions
- Beginner – Little or no tennis experience. Learn basic strokes and begin to
rally. All participants receive a new tennis racquet. - Advanced Beginner – Players who are ready for introductory social match play.
- Intermediate – Players are ready for formal, organized play.
- Drill and Play – Players who have tennis experience and know basic strokes and game scoring. Play a mix of organized hitting with multiple players and match play each week.

Register as a Free Agent
Are you an individual looking to get placed on a team? Register as a Free Agent. Your information will be passed along to teams needing players. If enough individuals register, an attempt will be made to organize a team from the Free Agent list.
By registering as a free agent you are not guaranteed to be placed on a team. This is a non-refundable $10 fee. If you are asked to join a team you may be subject to paying a portion of the team entry fee (determined by the team).
If you want to be included on more than one free agent list, you must register for each sport individually.
