Jacksonville Jaguars train ahead of NFL double-header in London

The Jacksonville Jaguars trained on the outskirts of London on Friday, beginning an 11-day trip to the capital where they will become the first NFL team to play two regular season games outside of the USA.

Head Coach Doug Pedersen put his team through their paces on a training field north-west of London after touching down in England in the early hours of Friday morning.

Return to Wembley

Sunday's "home" game against the Atlanta Falcons at the 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium has taken on increased significance, with the Jags coming off back-to-back home defeats, against reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs and Sunday's surprise 37-17 loss to the Houston Texans.

The north-Florida team were favourites to top the AFC South again after last year's unexpected play-off run, and the Jags had started the season with a 31-21 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacksonville Jaguar's struggles at Wembley

London has not been a particularly happy home from home for Jacksonville, who have a 4-5 record in the city.

Atlanta started the season brightly with wins over the Carolina Panthers and the Green Bay Packers, but the Falcons were beaten 20-6 by the Detroit Lions last week.

The match-up is the first of three NFL games in London this year, with the Jaguars taking on the Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Sunday before the English Premier League ground hosts the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens seven days later.
