About us

A modern "pay as you play" badminton club

Manchester Edgeley Badminton Club is the home of friendly competitive badminton in Greater Manchester.  We are a modern club that offers "pay as you play" club nights, coaching and matches in the Manchester, Tameside and Oldham & Rochdale Badminton Leagues.  We are affiliated with the Badminton England.

We run two club nights.  One targeting intermediate / advanced players and another social club night for everyone from beginners to intermediate players.  Information and links to the club night WhatsApp Groups are underneath.  

We have a number of coaches affiliated with the club and support player development at the club nights.


Intermediate and Advanced Club Nights

We run a club night for Intermediate and Advanced players on Thursday evenings (8-10pm) at Avondale Leisure Centre near Stockport (SK3 0UP).

The cost is £8 per club night.

Adult players are welcome and there is a discount for students.  A link to the club night WhatsApp Group is underneath.

Social Badminton Club Nights

We run a club night for beginners up to intermediate players on Tuesday evenings (8-10pm) at Avondale Leisure Centre near Stockport (SK3 0UP).  The focus is on friendly games and building up your badminton skills.

The cost is £8 per club night.

Competitive Play 



We currently have 6 teams in the top divisions of the Manchester League ( Manchester Badminton League ), Tameside Badminton League ( Tameside Badminton League - Home (leaguerepublic.com)) and the Oldham & Rochdale League ( About Us | ORBL).

This season we won the Tameside and Oldham & Rochdale top divisions and finished 3rd and 6th in the Manchester top division.  

The teams also operate on a pay as you play basis with a squad of players ranging from county to good league badminton players.  We are always looking for new players to strengthen the teams.
