MEN
Hill Lane men’s team had a very successful season with all of their three teams winning their respective divisions. They had 22 players registered using 19 of them and Alan Mayes played every week.
The A team won Division 2, B team won Division 3 and C team Division 6.
Devonshire had 53 players registered for the five teams they entered and used 45 of them. Lewis Belcher and Damian Heard played in all of their respective fixtures. Their B team won Division 4, C team Division 5, new D team runners-up in Division 6 and their new E team won Division 7.
Tavistock were able to increase their men’s teams to six teams in the league this year. They had 59 players registered and used 39.
This year, for the first time in quite some years, their Mens A won Division 1. Obviously familiarity helped as Nick Beilby and Luke Wakeley played every week for the A team. Stephen Buckley turned out every week for the D team.
Ivybridge had four teams registered with 42 players at their disposal using 29 of these. Unfortunately, they were not able to field a full team in the B team for half of the ten matches and got relegated, but congratulations to Malcolm Bruce for playing every week. The new D team finished runners-up in Division 7.
Yelverton had two teams in the league. They used 14 of the 16 players registered. Bob Verey was the only constant playing each week. The A team missed out on promotion following Mannamead’s error which handed extra points to Hill Lane making Hill Lane winners of Division 3.
