Premier Division round-up

MYTON WARRIORS produced their best performance of the season with a 19-18 win at THATTO HEATH CRUSADERS.

Despite scoring four tries to Myton’s three Thatto missed out on the two points that would have seen them move to the top of the table.

The hosts registered tries through Jamie Tracey, Adam Walsh and a brace from Darren Woods, but crucially Shaun Quinn was only able to improve one effort.

Myton – who trailed 10-6 at half-time – had Lee Fewlass, Lee James and Ash James on the score sheet and along with goals from Ash James (2) and Kris Walker, and a field-goal from Ricky Hough it proved just enough.

EAST HULL roared to impressive 48-12 win over city rivals HULL DOCKERS.

Andy Kay and Andy Taylor both touched down inside the opening 10 minutes and the former’s two conversions opened up an early 12-0 lead for the visitors.

However, that was as good as it got as the home side hit back in great fashion to run in nine tries.

Carl Puckering led the way with a hat-trick and three conversions, whilst Robbie Smith tagged on three more goals for good measure.

The other try scorers were Ian Kerman (2), Lee Brown, Chris Lyth and Lee Cator (2).

SIDDAL claimed their fifth win of the season with a comfortable 32-8 win over LEIGH MINERS RANGERS.

Dan Patrice gave the home side an early lead only for Miners to hit back through a Luke Martin try and two goals from Jonny Youds.

That though proved to be the visitor’s final scoring act as Gareth Blackburn, Shaun Garrod, Emmerson Newburn, Jaymes Chapman and Richard Lopag, with Blackburn also adding four goals.

WATH BROW HORNETS returned from Hull in a happy mood following a 22-18 success over WEST HULL.

The home side raced into an 18-0 lead by the interval but were eventually overhauled by the champions.

Scott Spaven improved tries from Brett Turner, Sam Watson and Dean Thompson to give Wests a big advantage, but second half efforts from James Dixon, Jamie Devine, Scott Pink and Karl Dixon – plus three Peter Caddy goals – proved to be enough.

Defences dominated the clash between WIGAN ST PATRICKS and SKIRLAUGH with the hosts running out 14-4 winners.

Mike Johnson crossed late on for the Hull sides only points, whilst the St Pats points came from tries to Anthony Atherton and Tom Atherton, plus goals from Brad Smith (2) and Dean Hatton.

YORK ACORN picked up their second win in as many weeks with a 38-10 win over INCE ROSE BRIDGE.

The home side ran in seven tries in a win that sees them climb off the foot of the table.

Nick Speck, Joe Porter and Ash Robson all touched down twice with a Jordan Hyde effort and goals from Robson (2) and Antony Chilton (3) completing the Acorn points scoring.

Ince’s only bright points of the afternoon came through tries to Rick Shaw and Kenny Baker, Chris Boyland improving the first effort.
