Defence Bowling club reopens

PNG Sports foundation along with the PNG Defence Force officially opened the Defence Bowling Club on Friday at Murray Barracks.

The Defence Bowling club has been undergoing renovation over the last years through the PNG Sports Foundation.

The club at Murray Barracks will soon be open for business and back to its glory days of hosting weekend bowling action among avid followers in the Nation’s Capital.

Slowly but surely, the sport of bowling has picked up at the Metro bowling club and has produced a number of potential bowling superstars.

Vice sports Minister Wesly Raminai was on hand to officially open the PNGDF bowling club which is a popular spot for many Murray Barracks residents on the weekend.

Taking care of both NCD and Central Province bowlers, the PNG Defence Force Bowling Club is the only bowling association in the Southern Region.

PNGDF Bowling Club is not only known for its endless support from the National Bowling Executives, but for producing Gold Medallist at the Commonwealth Games, Geua Tau.
