It’s never too late to try something new. Ever considered Martial Arts?
Martial Arts? Me? I am far too old, I am unfit and I don’t like fighting!! That's what I thought six years ago before I started practising Aikido.
Aikido, the dynamic Japanese martial art, requires no use of physical strength. It relies instead on the use of technique to neutralise an attack and is therefore suited to men, women and children of all ages. It is agnostic regarding race, gender, fitness, age and social status.
What has it done for me?
Apart from providing a genuine break from work (during training I am simply too busy trying to master the techniques to think about anything else) it has improved my fitness and agility. I am the wrong side of 40 and I can still tumble like a six year old.
