🏏 Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja faces a dilemma as Cricket Australia (CA) warns him against on-field messages in support of Palestinians during his upcoming Test match. Khawaja planned to wear shoes bearing the words "all lives are equal" and "freedom is a human right" as a gesture of solidarity with Gaza. However, CA's intervention, rooted in the ICC's regulations, prohibits players from displaying personal or political messages on their attire to maintain the neutrality of the game. 🤝 While CA acknowledges Khawaja's right to freedom of speech, they stress adherence to ICC rules, and failure to comply may result in disciplinary action. The situation has sparked a broader debate within the cricket community about the balance between athletes' expression of beliefs and the neutrality of sports. Khawaja, disappointed with CA's stance, argues for athletes' right to speak out against injustice, while supporters emphasize the potential of sports to raise awareness. The incident sheds light on the intricate connection between sports, politics, and human rights, fueling ongoing discussions about the role of athletes as public figures and their right to advocate for social change. #UsmanKhawaja #CricketAustralia #FreedomOfSpeech #SportsAndPolitics 🌐 #cricket #cricketfans #cricketfever #cricketer #cricketnews #cricketlover #cricketlovers #cricketer #crickets #testmatch #testmatch2023 #testmatches #TestMatchCricket #testmatchspecial #testmatchcricket #testmatches #testmatchlive #ICCWorldCup #iccworldcup2023 https://lnkd.in/gQUUn2ui

World cup 2023 ticket sales may start from Aug The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly reached out to all the associations hosting the 2023 ICC cricket World Cup games to provide input on ticket pricing. The BCCI aims to initiate online ticket sales by August 10, coinciding with the expected changes in the event's schedule. Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, previously assured that the scheduling issue would be resolved within the next three to four days. This came after three full member nations wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC), urging modifications to the existing schedule. According to Shah, online ticket holders will also have to obtain physical copies and show them at the stadium's entry gates. Although tickets are available for purchase online, electronic tickets will not be accepted during the prestigious 50-over tournament, which is being hosted solely in India for the first time. "Three members have approached the ICC seeking a schedule change. Our focus is primarily on adjusting dates and timings, while keeping the venues unchanged. We are actively working to minimize the gap between games from six days to 4-5 days. A clearer picture will emerge within the mentioned timeframe, and any changes will be made in consultation with the ICC," Shah said. When questioned about the possibility of rescheduling the marquee clash between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Shah said, "As previously stated, a few member boards have submitted their requests to the ICC, and a decision will be reached shortly." Addressing concerns about the high-profile match's security, Shah reassured the public that there are no prevailing security issues. The 2023 World Cup is set to feature 48 games taking place in 10 cities from October 5 to November 19. The opening game in Ahmedabad will see England and New Zealand facing off in an exciting encounter. for more news visit www.2yodoindia.com #2YoDoINDIA #BoardOfControlForCricketInIndia #BCCI #ICCCricketWorldCup #WorldCup2023 #WorldCup2023Ticket #JayShah #InternationalCricketCouncil #ICC #IndiaVsPakistan #NarendraModiStadium #Ahmedabad #IndiaVsPakistan #INDvsPAK

What is the difference between Indoor and Outdoor Cricket? Cricket is a sport that is enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. It is a great way to stay active and bring people together and can be played either indoors or outdoors. Indoor cricket is typically played on a smaller court with shorter boundaries, and the game is usually shorter in duration. This makes it ideal for those who prefer a more fast-paced game. It also allows for more creative shot-making, as the ball can be hit in any direction to score a run. Outdoor cricket is usually played on a larger field with more boundaries, and the game can take quite a bit longer to finish. This is often seen as the more classic form of the game, and is ideal for those who prefer a more strategic approach. No matter which you choose, cricket is a fantastic way to bond with friends and family members of all ages. It is a sport steeped in tradition and history, and will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come. cricket official rules #edutech #talentserve #officialcricket #rulescricket #bcci #cricketfever The Laws of Cricket is a code which specifies the rules of the game of cricket worldwide. The earliest known code was drafted in 1744 and, since 1788, it has been owned and maintained by its custodian, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in London. There are currently 42 Laws (always written with a capital "L") which outline all aspects of how the game is to be played. MCC has re-coded the Laws six times, the seventh and latest code being released in October 2017. The 2nd edition of the 2017 Code came into force on 1 April 2019.[1] The first six codes prior to 2017 were all subject to interim revisions and so exist in more than one version. #cricketnews MCC is a private club which was formerly cricket's official governing body, a role now fulfilled by the International Cricket Council (ICC). MCC retains copyright in the Laws and only the MCC may change the Laws, although usually this is only done after close consultation with the ICC and other interested parties such as the Association of Cricket Umpires and Scorers. Cricket is one of the few sports in which the governing principles are referred to as "Laws" rather than as "rules" or "regulations". In certain cases, however, regulations to supplement and/or vary the Laws may be agreed for particular competitions as required. Those applying to international matches (referred to as "playing conditions")

#sundaythoughts What is it that keeps sport evolving? For example, in Cricket, how and why has the sport changed? Is it the cause of "commercial viability", "viewer interest" or "speed of life" that has been central to the change in playing rules? Ideally, shouldn't the rules change to make it equally challenging for the batsmen and not just the bowlers - as the nature of the game which should be an even battle between bat and ball? The archived image below is arresting for it reflects an era when it used to be a bowlers game as well. Any thoughts?
