Yesterday I graduated with the degree of Magister Juris from The University of Oxford with Distinction. Although the course was rather disappointing academically and the Law Faculty was at times woefully disorganised, my time in Oxford has been the greatest experience of my life so far. The beauty of the city (apart from the Law Faculty building), the traditions, as well as the unique opportunities which The University and even more so The Oxford Union provide - to meet some of the most influential individuals in the world, be surrounded by inspiring peers and pursue projects which would not be possible anywhere else - have greatly impacted me and I am, hence, delighted to be able to spend another term in Oxford to research the legal construction of the trust in the common law as part of a legal comparison for my doctoral thesis at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Thank you to the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service and the Anglo-German Club E.V. for funding my time here, as well as Brasenose College, Oxford, Brasenose Choir, The Oxford Union, OU Fencing Club, the OU Modern Pentathlon Association and all the people I met and friends I made during my time in Oxford for making the past year so special.
Congratulations Silvan! Can imagine you had a great time.
We are all lucky to have you back here for another year and many congratulations on your distinguished degree!
Congratulations Silvan 🙏🏽

Well done Silvan and thanks for showing me around beautiful Oxford!
Congrats, Silvan! I hope the new term will bring you just as much joy as the past year.
