This Video provides the insight of how people with physical and special disabilities play volleyball. Sitting volleyball is for people who have any kind of lower limb condition, with that other task were also added for us such as playing with one hand or with non dominant hand, playing with one eye closed which can be seen in this video. Playing with one hand shows how a person with single hand impairment can play. How people can play when they have abnormality in one eye. The most strenuous task was playing with both eyes closed, for a person with incapacity in both eyes. This people play volleyball using a ball which produces some kind of sound while playing, this helps them do the activity by using their sound perception which tends to be high in persons with special disabilities.

Does your child struggle to join in P.E. activities? Try and make the task easier to practice—for example, practice throwing and catching a balloon from a short distance rather than a tennis ball from a longer distance. As your child becomes successful in the task, gradually make it harder taking a step back and changing the balloon to a big ball for example. #OThack #Paeds #ChildrensOT #OT #Abudhabi #UAE

I think this is an interesting proposition, but perhaps requires a little more thought. If 60-70% of children participate in at least one sport outside of school, this is potentially a huge number of concerns for one independent body to investigate. One of the reasons that Ofsted ask LAs to investigate safeguarding complaints that they receive is because managing these centrally is not thought to be manageable. Add children and adult participants together; grass roots and elite environments - the numbers may be overwhelming. The system as a whole would benefit from an overhaul. I’ve long been an advocate of statutory guidance, similar to Keeping Children Safe in Education, being developed for out of school activities, including sports. Many of the concerns considered by sports are in relation to allegations that happen outside of the sporting environment. Where statutory agencies don’t, or can’t make a determination, it comes back to sport to assess risk in their environment and this can be problematic. Strengthening the role and advisory capacity of LADOs could be a good start. I’d be keen to be involved in any discussion.
'As a nation, we need to show we care as much about athlete welfare as we do about medals'. British Gymnastics Chair Mike Darcey has been speaking this morning on the Today programme and in the Guardian to call for the establishment for an independent body for safe sport and welfare. Read Mike's full piece here: https://lnkd.in/e79wrrH5 'We have moved past the time for words. What is needed now is action in the form of a firm and joint commitment from Government and the sporting sector to initiate a process for defining what the remit of and independent body should be – and what it shouldn’t be – with a commitment to resource and action.'
