Have you found a study method that works, especially for exams? What if I told you that instead of spending hours watching videos like “How to study for an exam the night before” or “The secret to getting straight A’s,” you try a flashcard technique? In high school, I tried many study methods, including hand-written notes, teaching others and leading by questions. But… the same methods that worked in high school don’t always work for university. You have competing commitments like clubs, a social life, and networking, and it’s unrealistic to spend hours a day hand-writing notes. With this method, in a class of 500 students, my professor emailed me twice, congratulating me on my performance on two major exams. Here’s how I use Quizlet Flashcards to study: ⌨️CUT + PASTE Function Use the CUT + PASTE function rather than COPY + PASTE when converting notes to flashcards and DON’T SIMPLIFY any of the content. It seems like a minor difference but it saves a few seconds each time which adds up and not simplifying any content allows you to summarize as you are studying each card. 🗂️One Example Per Card At the bottom of each card, add a relevant example to the content you are studying - it makes remembering it much easier. 🔢Multiple Choice Format One of the great functions of digital flashcards is the opportunity to turn your flashcards into multiple choice questions which are great for reviewing first, before actually memorizing flashcards. Check out this video for the rest of my tips to ace your exams this semester: 📽️ Video: https://lnkd.in/g-snTMa3 My sister Sara Guo and I started a YouTube channel, "The Guo Twins,” which focused on providing tips for university and self-improvement. Our content has helped 25+ students gain admission into Canada’s most prestigious undergraduate programs. If you like what you see, don't be shy... Students are often told to create flashcards to use in their revision, but the question remains... how do they use them effectively? The Leitner System is an easy to implement technique that adheres to the theory of spaced repetition. Students set up 3 (or more) boxes. For every correctly answered flashcard, they move it forwards. For every one they get wrong, it moves backwards. This method encourages them to continuously revisit their study material, focusing on the areas they need to work on. #exampreparation #studentsuccess #revision
