Reseed's fundraising target for participants is £300. Thats just 15 people giving you £20. Your boss will give, your bestie will give, your mum/dad/Grandma/Grandpa will give.
I don't want to be a 🌵 but... I think it's a bit of a myth that fundraising for challenge events is hard. I raised £3k for a recent cycle race, I was aiming for £1k, but I just kept sharing, reminding, prodding, sending dm's with the fundraising page link to old work colleagues, friends, my Mum's friends, my best mates Grandma (that last one was actually just popping over for a cuppa and telling her about it).
It's so... British (?!) to not ask, not to want to bother anyone too much. In reality, people generally want to support and just need heaps of reminders - we all lead busy lives. I find the sentence "Sorry - cheeky ask - but if you are able, please could you sponsor me?" works well. Then remind them five times that they said they would. Some people ignore you, yes, but other people come out of the woodwork to support you and - to be honest - its magic. It feels good. It's motivating. It makes you train harder.
