we are offering for sale A world class #Concert #Grand #piano by the internationally know #American Piano #maker, #Baldwin Piano Company. Serial number 2440 circa 1885-90, making this one of the earliest known concert grand piano series to be produced by this company . 275 cm long piano made of solid massive pieces of #Rosewood further supported by extensive oak framework, making it not only durable, but also have a substantial added weight. The Baldwin Piano Company is an American piano brand. It was once the largest US-based manufacturer of keyboard instruments and known by the slogan, "America's Favorite Piano". Since 2001, it has been a subsidiary of #Gibson Brands, Inc. It ceased most domestic production in December 2008, moving its total production to China. The company traces its origins back to 1857, when Dwight Hamilton Baldwin began teaching piano, organ, and violin in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1862, Baldwin started a Decker Brothers piano dealership and, in 1866, hired Lucien Wulsin as a clerk. Wulsin became a partner in the dealership, by then known as D.H. Baldwin & Company, in 1873, and, under his leadership, the Baldwin Company became the largest piano dealer in the Midwestern United States by the 1890s. In 1889–1890, Baldwin vowed to build "the best piano that could be built" and subsequently formed two production companies: Hamilton Organ, which built reed organs, and the Baldwin Piano Company, which made pianos. The company's first piano, an upright, began selling in 1891. The company introduced its first grand piano in 1885. #History is extremely important to the Baldwin brand. Baldwin has been in the business for 150 years and has become the piano of choice for the world’s hottest artists, including Aaron Copland, Liberace, Dave Brubeck, Marian McPartland, Ben Folds and Miley Cyrus.

An alluring early romantic period grand pianoforte made by the well known pianoforte maker of Marseille, Louis-Constantin Boisselot . Serial number 833 made in the year 1839. Case of Rosewood and Mahogany with bright bands of brass inlay. Bi-chord, having 6 octaves and 5 notes, 80 keys ivory and ebony. Length 196x width 120 cm. Piano was beautifully restored in the past. This early piano is available for sale, please feel free to contact us directly . Louis-Constantin Boisselot (11 March 1809 – 5 June 1850 in Marseille ) was a French piano manufacturer and the great artisan of the creation of the house of Boisselot in Marseille. Boisselot was born in Montpellier. He married Fortunée Funaro (1816–?), the daughter of a merchant at Marseille, on 25 November 1835. They had a son, Marie-Louis-François Boisselot (1845–1902), known simply as Franz, because he had as godfather Franz Liszt (1811–1886), a long-time friend of the family. In 1843, he patented a piano equipped with sympathetic strings sounding an octave above, an idea that would eventually lead to Bluthner's 1873 aliquot scaling patent for grand pianos and at the Paris Exposition the following year, where he presented another piano with a "pedal tone" which preceded the "sostenuto mechanism" that Steinway re-introduced in 1874. He succeeded his father Jean-Louis Boisselot in the manufacture of pianos in 1847, a business continued by successive generations of his family until the late nineteenth century. The collections of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar include around fifty historical musical instruments. A highlight is the grand piano from the Boisselot & Fils workshop (Marseille 1846), which was given to Franz Liszt as a gift and on which the compositions of the Weimar years were created. Liszt expressed his devotion to this instrument in his letter to Xavier Boisselot in 1862: “Although the keys are nearly worn through by the battles fought upon them by the music of the past, present and future, I will never agree to change it, and have resolved to keep it until the end of my days, as a favoured work associate”. Our close friend Paul McNulty was chosen by Klassik Stiftung Weimar to make a copy of Liszts personal Boisselot 1846 piano. The piano was made by 200 Liszt’s celebration as a project of the South German government. Both original and copy are property of Stiftung Weimar. #pianoforte #piano #music #pianomusic #pianist #pianoplayer #pianocover #musica #pianosolo #musician #classicalmusic #instapiano #pianolove #pianogram #pianolessons #pianopiano #pianoman #classicalpiano #pianolover #pianista #pianoplaying #pianotime #pianovideo #beethoven #instamusic #pianopractice

#PalacePianosFrance is proud to offer for sale a #Museum quality and #historical piano, a #unique #collection item that would make an outstanding #investment for anyone's collection worldwide..... #Exceptional and unique #Piano Girafe circa 1810 in Ebony and blackened Pear wood decorated and sculpted applied gold leaf, highlighted by #gilted Bronzes. Case work highly decorated, right side having a Merman positioned at the corner playing his #Lyra, and front base legs being held by Greek erectheum #Caryatids. Front top panel, two cherubs holding branches depicting and hailing the portraits of the #Royal Couple #Napoleon I and his Wife #Empress #Marie #Louise of #Austria. Lower panel below keyboards showing the Greek bowl of life. Piano as well surrounded in Laurel wreaths. The insides you find in original unrestored condition as only the exterior parts of the piano, the furniture, was restored. #Vienesse action having odd three soundboards. You find that this unique pianoforte was built as more of a mechanical instrument then just the unique piano that it is. Finding a As an expert for #pianoforte and harp, it is in my belief that this piano is indeed a piano of Royal Provenance for the following reasons: 1- Pianos during this time were considered a Rich Luxury that only nobles and royals could possibly afford. Pianos of this sort would run the same if not more in price as a house during this time. 2- The piano is one of the most decorative and beautifully crafted pianofortes from this period for Giraffe pianos I have ever seen. Not one comes close to what this one is. 3- The piano has a Vienesse action in it; hence the piano was made in Austria by an Austrian maker. The outer case is not of any style you would expect from Austria from this time, plus the fact of it showing Napoleon and his Wife Marie Louis of Austria tells me this was not a normal command. Stands 230 cm tall
