One of the most dangerous #schoolsafety jobs that School Resource Officers #sros do - arrival and dismissal traffic duty. SRO Hession's repost below from his school shows how much #parents, #students and #schoolleaders appreciate their SROs. #schoolsecurity #principals
Part of being a SRO is building positive relationships with students and parents. A very nice parent took this picture of me while I was dancing with traffic.

This report is mainly aimed at the education sector, but some of the findings might also be of interest to parents and carers. AfPE have widely circulated the report and provided support, but if you are not a member then you might find my blog useful. It extracts the main points raised and provides a link to the full report, plus some questions to reflect on as a PE lead. Fitzyandme.com/blog #physicaleducation #ofsted #afPE #primarype #ks2 #ks1

"Lucy wants to create content to bring exposure to the sport, because some adults don't realize it's possible. We live in NYC, our team is five kids. There are more than five kids in NY in wheelchairs.” Tom Shannon On a quiet Manhattan morning during the NY Marathon, young Lucy's world transformed. I am about to run the marathon and her story inspired me! Watching wheelchair racers own Fifth Avenue, she whispered a dream: "I'm gonna do that one day." With the New York Road Runners guidance and a racing wheelchair from JDJ Charitable Foundation, Lucy embraced the sport with fervor. Lucy committed herself to training, even through covid, and eventually became a Jr National Champion. She is an inspiration to many younger kids in wheelchairs. Her goal is to grow exposure for the sport, and illuminate the unlimited potential of kids in wheelchairs. Her athletic pursuits don't end there. Lucy's adventures also lead her to rock climbing and skiing, showcasing that determination knows no bounds. Her dream now is to be a multi-sport Paralympian! We think the has the makings to do it. Lucy shows the limitless potential of kids in wheelchairs. She is a future leader in the making! As parents, our heartfelt message: children, regardless of challenges, can dream and achieve. We hope Lucy's journey inspires others to discover their own paths. 🏁 💪 #motivation #purpose #personaltraining #goals #mindset #helpingothers #linkedinstories #success #jdjwheelchairstories #WheelchairWarrior
We're starting a video series highlighting the families and athletes who we have supported through our wheelchair granting program. We're kicking things off with Tom Shannon & his daughter Lucy who received a push racer from our foundation. #jdjfoundation #jdjwheelchairstories
