In my communications class, we had to pick from a list of topics and write about an article pertaining to that topic, I had a mix of interpersonal and nonverbal communication. The article was about a university that created three AI systems that helped with students' work and communication skills. The information I learned in the article gave me new resources to help with client work, creative work, and a new light on AI technology. Based on the systems mentioned in the article, they all deal with work ethic and communication skills like verbal and nonverbal. This article can be read by anyone in place of work. Someone asked me today if I could explain why we still need to teach communication skills in an AI world. They believe we do but were having a hard time articulating why. This is what I said (more or less…I focused on employment because that’s what we do at college but I strongly believe it’s even more important that we promote these kinds of skills in order to build stronger better communities):Teaching writing, research, and communication skills across disciplines remains valid because these skills are not just about producing content but also about critical thinking, creativity, and human connection. While AI (such as ChatGPT) can assist with tasks, it is a tool that cannot replicate the depth of understanding, context, and empathy that human communication requires. The skills we teach across disciplines are transferable and empower students to adapt and excel in an ever-evolving job market where effective communication, research, critical thinking, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities are indispensable. Equipping students with these skills ensures their ability to navigate the complexities of the digital age and contribute meaningfully to any profession as well as their communities. We all benefit. #communication #criticalthinking #problemsolvers #creativityandinnovation #empathy #conflictresolution #onlyconnect

📢 One rule: Speak Clearly Effective communication is crucial for being understood and achieving successful outcomes. In order to be understood better, you need to switch to the language of your opponent. Now it’s not enough to ask GPT: "Write a 500-character post about something for this audience". Chatbots cannot decipher the goals and intentions behind your message or blog. When “chatting” with a chatbot, you need to ask it to ask questions to you (weird) that will help it better understand your request. The more information you provide and the clearer your instructions, the more precise and relevant the responses will be. It's a simple yet powerful strategy. Give it a try, and witness the impact of clear communication! ✨ #communication #chatgpt #chatgptprompts

⚡️ EdTech Leader | Building the Future of Applied & Experiential Learning | Open to New Opportunities 🌱
A hopeful take (backed by research) by Peter Cardon of how AI can make the workplace more human and prioritize durable skills. Two interesting pieces I took away: 1️⃣ The rise of the daily AI ethicist - individuals who can blend technological savvy with a strong moral compass in daily micro decisions will be essential. 2️⃣ Oral communication surges in value - written and oral communication skills have been ranked of equal importance historically but the importance of human oral communication will surge ahead as LLM's excel at crafting quality written communication. We're excited about the potential that AI brings to the education sector. Here are three ways AI can transform the educational experience: Personalized Learning: AI-powered tutoring systems can adapt the pace of teaching to match students' needs, creating a tailored learning journey for each student. #PersonalizedLearning Efficient Time Management: Virtual assistants can help both students and teachers to manage their time effectively and complete their assignments on schedule. #TimeManagement Language Translation: AI can aid in language translation in educational settings where pupils speak a wide variety of languages, making education more accessible to everyone. #LanguageTranslation We're particularly interested in how AI can address inequalities in schooling and improve access to knowledge globally. But as with any disruptive technology, it's crucial that the implementation is fair and doesn't contribute to existing inequalities. #EducationEquity Interested in learning more about how AI can impact your educational institution?
