A surprisingly successful outing at the Pennine Barrier 50mile ultra at the weekend. My first ever Top 5 finish in a time of 9:29:29. A brilliantly organised event by the GB ULTRAS LTD team. Looking forward to racing their Glasgow to Edinburgh event later in the year. Next up, the West Highland Way Race in 5 weeks time! #ultrarunning

Successful day at the inaugural Forth Ultra & Helix 10k. We had Graham announcing on the mic for the whole day and Gregg racing the 69km ultra event. The weather conditions were near perfect - helping to create a very successful first edition of the race. A big thanks to Scurry Events for having us along and we look forward to the 2nd edition. Gregg finished in 7th position and even claimed a new marathon and 50k PB in the process.

Running an ultramarathon whilst the country is hit with a month's worth of rain in a day isn't something I'd normally recommend. However, that's exactly what I did on Saturday. I've never ran in anything like it. Relentless rain from start to finish. It was the epitome of mind over matter. Finishing 92km from Glasgow to Edinburgh in 8:56:57, placing 25th (out of 525). Congratulations to everyone else who battled the elements to make it to the finish line, and huge thanks to all those volunteers who stood out in the rain all day. Another well organised event from Wayne Drinkwater / GB ULTRAS LTD. #ultrarunning

Tomorrow I will be running 90km from Glasgow to Edinburgh in the GB ULTRAS LTD G2E Ultra. 🏃♂️ It's set to be very wet (it's currently an amber rain warning... 😐) so at times it'll probably feel more like a swim than a run. Prep has been far from ideal due to injury post-WHW Race and then getting Covid.
