What we do outside of work is as much a part of us as what we do inside of work. But more importantly, it can inspire and invigorate how we approach work. This was a perfect example of that. I have just returned from a full week of Kung Fu Instructors camp on the island of Crete. Most people assume this is something out of Kill Bill and I spent the week living in a hut punching trees. Fortunately, it was a little more pleasant than that. But like Kill Bill, a lot of what we worked on was mindset. Focus and motivation are the two driving forces for anyone looking to improve a skill. As instructors we need to understand that and as a business owner I sometimes need to be reminded of it. Every year I do this I come back with an extra well of motivation for my business and this year is no different. I'll be returning to something I first looked to improve Two years ago, when we changed our approach to recruitment. We massively expanded the focus we put on approaching passive candidates, selecting for motivation and cultural fit along with experience. In those two years I estimate I’ve interviewed well over 100 senior candidates for roles in SaaS, Media and Market Intelligence roles. Every interview I got better. But this year I will be redoubling my efforts and focusing on further improvements. So, my question to you is - has a hobby of yours improved your performance in work? If yes, how? #PersonalDevelopment #Mindset #ObligatoryBeachShot

Nice one Rob. As a student of the club I echo everything you have said. Outside interests and hobbies can provide a little bit of inspiration that can come out of nowhere as well sometimes, that you can transfer into the working world
