As it’s just been volunteering week I thought I’d spent a bit of time reflecting on what is now my 10th year as a badminton coach, with 6 years as a level 1 and 4 years as a level 2! I’ll roughly be hitting 1000 hours of volunteering this year and I’d like to think it’s been a hell of an investment into myself and to my club Durham Swifts! Coaching has always helped my confidence in new roles and has seen me through at least 3 major parts of my career: Retail, University & Recruitment. (Whether it’s improved my actual playing is a different matter) Anyone who volunteers understands the value it has on others and I’m proud to work for an organisation who also shares and understands the value of volunteering! Being able to look back and see how much I’ve developed in the last 10 years, I’m proud knowing how much coaching has influenced my life. #Volunteering #Badminton #TeamNP
