SLTV: LEEDS RHINOS DONATE HEADINGLEY CARNEGIE GOAL-POSTS TO DRIGHLINGTON ARLFC

Last Saturday, Leeds Rhinos full-back Zak Hardaker officially handed over the 1980’s Headingley Carnegie Stadium goal-posts to Drighlington ARLFC to mark the opening of their new pitch for the coming season. Watch SLTV’s coverage of the day below.

Hardaker, who was joined by Rhinos ace Kallum Watkins at the event which was supported by the Leeds Rugby Foundation, kicked over the posts to launch them for use during the family fun-day at Drighlington ARLFC.

Gary Hetherington, Trustee of the Leeds Rugby Foundation, donated the posts from Headingley Carnegie Stadium when they were replaced as part of the pitch renovations after the 2012 Super League season and this will be the first season the original posts will be used since their Headingley departure.

During the event, Drighlington ARLFC hosted a touch and pass competition, BBQ, tombola, raffle and various events at the clubhouse later that afternoon. Ronnie the Rhino was also in attendance and fun was had by all involved!
