Camm scored a mammoth 122 off just 86 deliveries in his side’s victory against LSC Colts.
Being the hot day that it was it seemed that Camm wasn’t too keen on running, with 86 of those 122 coming in the form of boundaries (nine sixes and eight fours).
It was Yanco who won the toss and did elect to bat first but things got off to a rocky start.
Colts’ Jake Wood and Tim Le rattled through the top three in the order to leave them 3-28 off 10 overs.
Camm was having none of it.
He combined with Andrew Burke (20 off 22) and pushed the team’s score to 76 in the next six overs before Le rattled the stumps of Burke.
The remaining batsmen seemed content to just push around the singles and let Camm have at it, and who could blame them.
When Camm was eventually dismissed he had gotten his team past the 200 mark. They eventually finished 9-207.
Colts had their work cut out for them if they were to go at nearly a run a ball to chase down the target.
The loss of Le and Wood at the top of the order didn’t help their cause but Craig Sharp and Matt Drinan brought some calmness back to the crease.
They were going at a tick over five runs per over but the loss of Dinan (24) and then Luke Clyne (0) left them in trouble at 4-43.
Robert Keech came to the crease and played a solid role, but some tight bowling meant the required run rate kept on climbing.
A cameo at the end by Ben Keith (31 not out off 32) wasn’t enough to get them over the line.
Colts finished 7-151. They lost by 56 runs.
In the final second grade match of the round, a five wicket haul by Phantoms Charlie Reneker wasn’t enough to get his team over the line against Yanco Hotel 35’s.
Hotel batted first and got off to a decent start thanks to opener Danyan Evans.
Evans’ 29 provided a good start but it was captain Anthony Mndagilo and his 47 not out that proved the match winner.
With wickets crumbing around him he stayed strong to guide his team to 9-145 after being 6-73.
Apart from opener Ben Richards (17), the Phantoms didn’t put up much of a fight.
Angus Boulton (3-10), Greg Clancy (2-22) and Troy Evans (3-5) ripped through Phantoms order.
They finished all out for 75 and handed Hotel a 70 run victory.
The wins by Yanco Hotel and 35’s creates a clear gap between the top three on the ladder.
