Hoole Bowling Club enjoy success on competition's return

The Chester Seniors Bowling League is now back in action after being suspended due to the pandemic.

2022 has seen the return of competitive Crown Green bowling for the Chester Seniors Bowling League after suspension for Covid.

The Hoole Alexandra Park B Team who had been Seniors League champions for 39 years were unable to field a team because of illness and retirements but their place has been taken by the Hoole Alexandra Park A Team.

After winning the Hermitage Cup earlier in the season, Hoole A completed the year by winning the Chester Seniors League with a 17 point advantage over their nearest rivals Cherry A. Hoole A won 25 of their 28 matches and drew three.

Outstanding performances from the Hoole A team included those of Charlie Potts and Gary Maddock who lost only one game and Sian Maddock and John Evans who lost two games out of 24 games played.

Only Ian Bright of Tower fields A had a better win average winning 100% of his 20 games played.

The Chester Seniors end of season Merit Competition the Burrows Cup will be played at Hoole Alexandra Park on September 13 and 17 when the best player from each of the Chester teams will compete against one another in a knockout competition.
