BRAY Bowling Club is hosting an open day at the club this coming Sunday, April 15.

The Bray Bowling Club, which is situated at Failte Park in Bray, made the most of the recent extremely sunny weather and temperatures of almost 20C, which coincided with the opening of its season.

The club has both a ladies' and men's section. The ladies compete in Division 1 of the Ladies' Bowling League, and the men compete in Divisions 1, 3 and 4 of the Bowling League of Ireland.

The club has set itself some challenges for the coming season and these include actively seeking new members and they are planning a new members Day this coming Sunday from 2.30pm.

Prospective new members are just asked to bring a pair of flat shoes and the club will provide them with bowls and the skills to play the game. The club is an active group, have a lot of fun, enjoy each other's company as a bonus and all new members will be made very welcome.

The club is also targeting youth members and has recently approached the secondary schools in the Bray area. Loreto, Presentation College and St Kilian's will receive coaching lessons.
