Rivitheads rejoice! Trent Reznor has revealed that a new Nine Inch Nails album is in the works. Speaking with Rolling Stone while promoting the soundtrack he scored for the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Reznor said that “all signs point to yes” for a new NIN album.

In the wake of this news, fans are today invited to stream the new EP of Reznor’s project How to Destroy Angels, which he leads with his wife Mariqueen Maandig, and frequent collaborators Atticus Ross and graphic artist and photographer Rob Sheridan. The album is titled An omen EP_ and is available for listening at The Hype Machine. It will be released Nov. 13 on Columbia Records.
In 2009, Reznor announced NIN would embark on a 20th Anniversary farewell tour (the band’s seminal debut, Pretty Hate Machine, was released in 1989) that closed the year with intimate shows in New York and Los Angeles. In the time since, he has stayed active with HDA while also scoring such films as The Social Network (for which he won an Academy Award) and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, in addition to Black Ops 2.

“There are some things in the works,” Reznor told Rolling Stone, hinting that it may include performing live again. “If it feels right, it’s a possibility… I never said that that wasn’t going to happen, just that it couldn’t go on as it was. Having a few years doing other things, I’ve enjoyed [them] and I’m enjoying doing How to Destroy Angels, and there will be a place for stuff that falls in the Nine Inch Nails column of things. It’s a different kind of work.”
