Farnham Road Club held its second open time-trial over a distance of 25 miles.

The event could be ridden by teams of four (‘four-ups’), teams of two (‘two-ups’), tandems or solo riders.

Organiser Paul Charman saw the entry level build slowly until a total of 55 riders were involved. Timekeepers were Jim Brown and Mike Rice, with Farnham Road Club members helping in various capacities.

Fastest of the five ‘four-up’ teams was a composite team of Lincon Rodrigues, Florian Holstein and David Rosa Casado from Go Fast, Turn Left and Peter Hargreaves (VC Norwich) who recorded a time of 54min 41sec for the 25 miles.

Frank Bauer, Peter Allan, Andrew Thomas and Rylan Hughes (Team Velo Sportif) were second in 56min 25sec.

Farnham Road Club’s Alastair Godfrey, his sons Mike and Charlie, and Daniel Fisher were third in 57min 12sec.

Hart Evolution’s Pete Christensen, Andrew Gall, Ian Neville and Stuart McLay were fourth in 58min 46sec, while Kathryn Hughes, Sophie Curle, Kimberley Burrows and Holly Chamarette (Onyx RT) finished in 1hr 0min 46sec.

The ‘two-up’ event was won by the team of William Taylor (Go Fast, Turn Left) and Joshua Clark (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA) in 55min 03 sec, followed by the Go Fast, Turn Left pairing of Benn Bromley and Christopher Eibich in 56min 58sec. Worthing Excelsior’s Ian Cheeseman and Karl Roberton claimed third in 57min 11sec. Farnham Road Club’s Sam Orbell rode with James Allen (Alton CC/Owens Cycles) and recorded 57min 52sec for fourth place.

Jon Saunders (Charlotteville CC) rode the tandem with Elisabeth Jordan (Storey Racing) and finished in 58min 32sec.

The winner of the solo event was Henry Tayson (Ex Machina) in 54min 52sec.

James Ayton (Portsmouth North End CC) was second in 57min 30sec and Paul Tippett (Crawley Wheelers) was third in 57min 53sec. Farnham’s Demetrius Onoufriou finished in 1hr 2min 57sec and Stuart Morgan in 1hr 8min 40sec.
