Highworth Phoenix Diving Club

Highworth Phoenix Diving Club is looking for your support and financial help! We were formed in late 1970 and have since become one of the only diving clubs in the wider Swindon area, shortly we will become the only diving club in the Southwest, other than Plymouth!
We have unfortunately recently been advised that the 1m springboard at The Highworth rec, where we train, has been condemned. As you can imagine this has had a huge impact on the club and our ability to continue coaching to the standard we want to. After speaking with Halo, the charity who run Highworth Rec, we have been advised that they will not be replacing the springboard as it will cost £16,500 to replace, and Halo do not have the funds to do this currently. As a small local diving club this is also a huge amount of money to us! However, we are passionate about the club and really wish to see it continue for years to come, we want to see the divers continue to thrive and compete and enjoy the sport they love so much.
As a club we meet twice a week at Highworth Rec. We have 3 fabulous volunteer coaches, Irene, Colin and Taz who give up their time each week to coach and teach new skills to a vast age range of people (our youngest member is 4 and our oldest is 81!). Although we are a small club there have been many successes across the years. Many of our members attend competitions across the UK and compete against other clubs, often coming away with many medals!
This is why Highworth Phoenix Diving Club is asking for your help! As I am sure you can imagine not having the 1m springboard is limiting the ability for our coaches to teach, and it is preventing much needed practice for upcoming events and competitions. The missing board is also impacting our ability to encourage new members to ensure the clubs survival. If you feel you could contribute anything, be it small or large, we would be incredibly grateful. Being able to replace the board will not only ensure the future of the club, but it will also mean the community who use the pool for social swims and swimming lessons will once again have access to the 1m springboard as it is also enjoyed by many during these sessions. We thank you in advance for any help you can give.
