Sale Bowls Club celebrated a spectacular result last Saturday, when its teams won premierships in each of the four sections of the Gippsland Region’s North Division.
The wins were more meritorious because, in each section, the Sale teams played against opposition that had finished on top of the ladder.
In Section 1, Sale defeated Stratford 63-47; in Section 2, Sale defeated Yarram 68-55; in Section 3, Sale defeated Stratford 42-36; and in Section 4, Sale defeated Loch Sport 52-26.
The matches were played at Sale before a large crowd.
Tomorrow, each team will play against their equivalent opponents from the East Division of the Gippsland Region at Sale.
In Section 1, Sale plays Lakes Entrance; Section 2 plays Howitt Park, Section 3 plays Paynesville, and Section 4 plays Bairnsdale.
In other news, courtesy of a generous grant from the John Leslie Foundation – whose support assists community clubs and is greatly appreciated by recipient members – Sale recently launched a new synthetic surface on the Reid Green, which its members warmly enjoy.
