For my final offering on the last "Throwback Thursday" of February, 2018 (my latest 'sweeps month'), I have one more 'photo-op' taken at the February 21st meeting of Scrabble Club 276 at Veterans Park in Lauderhill, Florida...
Club president Sandee Bloom decide to celebrate February holidays on each consecutive Wednesday. On February 7th, she was celebrating Valentines Day one week early (offering a prize to the player who made the best word associated with said holiday); and on the February 14th meeting, Sandee was giving away a President's Day prize (to the player who made the highest-scoring word that does not contain the letters "D" and "T")!
I was rather surprised that Sandee didn't come up with a prize connected to the Chinese New Year for the February 21st meeting. So, to compensate for it, I'd decided to use the lettered tiles and spelled out the following message on my game board: "It's Chinese New Year: 'Year of the Dog'... Woof!" And, once again, I took the leftover tiles and used them to spell out 13 five-lettered words, with two spare tiles left - both of them 'blanks'!
I was also wearing a GTE-Visa (sponsored) T-shirt with a blue dog wearing a football helmet - which is most suitable for the Chinese New Year! Sandee used her digital camera to take a picture of me with my game board - message and all - which I'm sharing with all of you!
And if you'd like to see more 'photo-ops' of me at past Scrabble Club meetings (whether I'd won a prize or an award, or simply created interesting messages on my game board), click on 'ScrabbleClub276' in the 'Keywords' section.
