Contest Brief

Rowing club Sabljaci, is Croatian rowing club from small town Ogulin which actively works for last 25 years with all sportsmans age. Main goal is to promote healty living, rowing sport and discipline and promoting our town and nature beuties which occures us. We want to take our club to a higher level, especially association’s visual identity, and thereby to deserve due consideration.

We are looking for a designer to assist in designing a new, modern logo and graphical standards with style guide to making club clothes, stamp, flyers and posters in future.

Main features of new logo needs to be:
- simplicty,
- originality,
- versatility,
- recognizability,
- memorability and longevity.

We want to be modern and have skipped classic rowing club logo designes. It also needs to be clean, simple to print, one to maximum three colors (mainly blue with white or black) and with full name of club "VESLAČKI KLUB SABLJACI - OGULIN" (ROWING CLUB SABLJACI - OGULIN), or shorter VK SABLJACI - OGULIN.
Main motives which can be involved in design are mostly in link with geographical position, mountain Klek which is near to town (mountain silhouette), rowing oars, lake surface, rower boy on single scull boat, or none of mentioned.
Now we have logo which shows witch in boat. Witch is because our town have legend according to which witches, fairies, and elves from all around the world gather in Klek during stormy nights. As they dance there their cries and screams can be heard even as far as Ogulin.
We think it's time to change, maybe for completly new legend or new motives. It's on you which direction you will go.
