About this event
Presented by Drum Fantasy Camp (August 2-6 at the Colburn School in downtown Los Angeles), "The Drumming All-Stars" is an ALL-AGES day of education and music featuring a Noon drum clinic and an 8:00 p.m. concert. These two events can be purchased separately or as a combo.
Event One: Opening Clinic (Noon)
Gergo Borlai (Al DiMeola/Scott Kinsey), Chris Coleman (Chaka Kahn/Beck), Mike Mangini (Dream Theater/Steve Vai) and Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck/Toto/The Who) will take the stage to perform on their kits. Then, they will sit down and run a fun and informative conversation about music, drumming, the industry and life! Audience members can ask questions. The program will run approximately two hours.
Event Two: The Drumming All-Stars Concert
Gergo Borlai (Al DiMeola/Scott Kinsey), Chris Coleman (Chaka Kahn/Beck), Mike Mangini (Dream Theater/Steve Vai) and Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck/Toto/The Who) will each play a set with our all-star band! The band features: bassist Hagar Ben Ari (The Late Late Show with James Corden), keyboardist Stu Mindeman (Kurt Elling/Dave Weckl), singer Chrissi Poland (Moby/Michael Bolton) and guitarist Vinny Valentino (George Benson/Vital Information).
The four drummers will also play together - paying tribute to two friends of Drum Fantasy Camp: Aaron Spears and Dom Famularo.
This rare collection of incredible musicians will appeal to serious music enthusiasts - not just drummers! It's an all-ages show that is also perfect for young music enthusiasts.
Seating
The location for both events is Zipper Auditorium at The Colburn School in downtown Los Angeles (right across the street from the Walt Disney Concert Hall). This is an intimate room with great sound and you'll be able to see everything.
