Briscoe heads for Workington

Former England full-back Shaun Briscoe has joined Championship club Workington until the end of the season after being released by Widnes.

The 30-year-old joined the Vikings from Hull KR 18 months ago but his spell at the Halton Stadium was badly hit by injury and he has made only five Super League appearances this season.

Briscoe, who is in his testimonial year, recently played on a dual-registration for Workington.
