LANGHOLM New Town bowling club reopened the green on Monday after a vote by members.
They held a socially-distanced meeting on Sunday at the club where Paul Mitchell, president, told members there were two options.
They could open the club straight away under Phase 1 of the government guidelines and ensure all Bowls Scotland guidelines were in place or wait until restrictions were more relaxed at Phase 2.
This would mean waiting a possible three weeks.
The club had a vote and most members were keen to start bowling so the green was declared open from Monday.
Membership subs can be paid to Avril Grieve, treasurer, at Linglie, Lairds Entry, Langholm.
The club is happy to announce the opening of the green for members but they must follow guidance from Bowls Scotland and the bowling club rules.
The club also has a risk assessment in place. Members are permitted into the clubhouse only to retrieve mats and Jacks.
The toilets and locker room remain closed for the foreseeable future.
Members must not leave bowls in the locker room if they wish to play but take bowls home and bring them when they are booked in.
They are expected to book themselves in with the booking forms on the locker room door.
