About Coach Zeus

Owner and coach of E3 Coaching Madison, Zeus was raised in Janesville, WI and was a three - sport athlete in high school; soccer, basketball, and track. He lettered in Varsity as a freshmen in the 400 meter dash, was a team leader in all three sports, and earned academic scholarships leading into college. He earned his Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and has a Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. While he likes to play hard ball, he's also very understanding of the athlete's needs. But rarely does he tolerate whining!

Coach Zeus says he models his coaching after Coach K from Duke University Basketball; "I like to know why the athlete does what he/she does. I want to get inside their heads, push them, yet I expect the athlete to possess a sense of accountability." As a USAT certified coach, Z has led athletes to successful finishes in 5K's, Ironmans, and everything in between.

Through a decade of coaching and racing, Zeus has qualified for Age Group Nationals three times, 70.3 Worlds and has qualified for the Boston Marathon. Outside of E3 and full-time coaching, coach Z works as a therapist specializing in counseling couples, families, teens, anger management with adult men, anxiety and depression. He can also be found eating steak tacos at almost any time of the day.

About Coach Matt

Matt Cooper is excited to join the E3 Coaching Team! Matt is a USAT Level 1 triathlon coach with a background in exercise science and psychology. Outside of personal and group coaching, Matt also coaches at the high school level - working with the boys cross country and track teams at Verona Area High School.

Matt enters the triathlon world from a running background where he competed in cross country and track for the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. After college, Matt continued to test his limits on the track and roads (racing distances from the mile up to the marathon). This same passion now shifts to the sport of triathlon, where Matt strives to get the most out of himself and his athletes. Recently, Matt placed 2nd in his AG and 9th overall at the Half Ironman Wisconsin 2023.

Coach Matt is thrilled to share his knowledge and experiences with prospective athletes to help them reach their goals!

About Coach Morgan

Morgan is thrilled to be a part of the E3 coaching staff. She has completed two full Ironman distances and countless races varying from sprints to 70.3s. A highlight accomplishment was a 4th place in the female 25-29 age group category at Ironman Wisconsin 2018. Morgan has qualified and participated in USAT Nationals and has enjoyed racing locally and nationally.

Prior to finding her passion for triathlon, Morgan was a D1 scholarship athlete for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on the Swimming and Diving Team.

Outside of triathlon training Morgan is a 4K teacher at Blessed Sacrament School. She coaches high school diving for Madison West, Edgewood and Monona Grove and during the summer you can catch Morgan coaching at West Side Swim Club.

Morgan’s favorite thing about training, coaching and racing triathlon is that it always finds a way to challenge and teach you new things regardless of your experience.

About Nikki

Hi all, I'm Nikki and I'm the Admin for E3! I joined E3 in 2021 while training for my first Ironman. After completing IM WI, I knew I wanted to stay involved in the E3 community, so during my break from training I took on the role of Admin! Outside of triathlon, I work for the Madison School District and am a girls soccer coach. In my down time, I hang out with family, friends, my two dogs and fiance. Can't wait to train next to you all this season as I plan to do another 70.3. Catch me in the back of WIC or running late to SPE3D!
