MEDALS have continued to roll in for a West Fife gymnastics club who will have a number of members fly the flag for their country this month.

Elite competition groups with Acrobay, which is based in Rosyth, enjoyed a hugely successful weekend at the recently-held NDP Scottish Championships and FIG Tournament.

The Primrose Lane club dominated the podium, bringing home a whopping medal haul of 17 gold, 10 silver and three bronze, and claimed the NDP Team Champions title for an incredible 11th successive year.

Their success means that nine of Acrobay's NDP partnerships will go on to represent Scotland at the Acrobatic NDP, Youth and IDP Finals and Disability Acrobatic Finals in Stoke-on-Trent this month, while a further eight will also represent their nation at the Inter-Regional Finals in Southampton.

In the NDP Scottish Championships, Khloe Cameron and Leona Williamson finished in top spot in the Grade One Women's Pairs, with Chloe Osborne and Freya Walker, and Cali Gibson and Amelie Belford, completing a hat-trick of Acrobay medals.

Lauren Whitfield and Lillie MacKean, and Lainey McKilligan and Alana McClymont, took gold and silver in the Grade Two Women's Pairs, while Neave Burns, Zofia Jurkiewicz and Isla Paton, Charlotte Ballantyne, Rebecca Wilson and Brodey Smith, and Hannah Avery, Grace Cunningham and Orla Connolly, were the top three in the Grade Two Women's Groups.

Imara Beattie and Ruby Melville took home gold in the Grade Three Women's Pairs, with Kayla Ballantyne and Arabella Blacklaws collecting silver, while there was gold for Georgia Haddow, Jorja Smith and Ellie Murray, and bronze for Clara Joyce, Elise Joyce and Poppy Campbell, in the Grade Three Women's Groups.

Acrobay scored a one-two in the Grade Four Women's Pairs, with Isla Mayor and Ruby Cunningham, and Rebecca Howitt and Alanna Hynd reaching the podium respectively, a feat which was repeated in the Grade Four Women's Groups by Emma Burns, Eilidh Park and Tayla Pettiglio, and Claire Marshall, Neive Sinclair and Ellie Breach.

Darcey Coulston and Skye Archibald reached the gold standard in the Grade Five Women's Pairs, as did Isla Gould, Ffion Smith and Malin Begg in the Groups, in which Emma Tait, Caitlin Allan and Fallon Farrell collected silver.

There was also a second place for Rosa Morrison, Poppy Pain and Belle Temple in the Youth Women's Groups, while other placings included fourth for Katie Hendry, Hannah Johnston and Aimee Osborne in that category, and for Isla Rourke, Eva Courtney and Roxie Kemp in the Grade Three Women's Groups; a fifth place for Lilly McHale, Cara Brand and Eva Lyle in the Grade Four Women's Groups; and an eighth spot for Lily Joyce and Scarlett Anderson in the Grade Three Women's Pairs.

In the FIG Tournament, Scarlett Haldane, Emma Nelson and Ella Gracie (Balance and Dynmaic) won 11-16 Women's Groups gold, as did Nephele Idehen and Daisy Campbell (Balance, Dynamic and Combined) in the 12-18 Women's Pairs, and Molly McHale, Mia Logan and Kamila Denicka (Balance, Dynamic and Combined) in the 12-18 Women's Groups.

Aimee Arnott and Poppy Green (Balance and Dynmaic) won 11-16 Women's Pairs silver, and the achievements of the Acrobay team delighted their head coach, Suzanne Fraser.

She said: "Nerves are always heightened at the Scottish finals but we have very proud coaches and parents after a weekend like that.

"We won more medals than we ever have at the Scottish Championships so the gymnasts’ hours of very hard work absolutely paid off."

Acrobay's Scottish success comes after earlier medal hauls in 2022, including at the Spelthorne Cup competition, the Pat Wade Classic, and the King Edmund Acro Cup.
