The harsh realities of playing at the very top level of Amateur football brought a completely justified 0-6 reverse at the hands/ feet of last years Premier champions, Hamptonians.

Despite finishing a close runner up to them last season, Dorkinians were largely outclassed on the day , barely registering an attempt on goal.
Unavailability, a perennial problem, brought Matt Morley up from the 2s and he turned in an excellent shift in the middle of the park, working tirelessly despite the technical ability of the opposition.

With Hamptonians fielding a number of league representative players they started with a great deal of possession and took a deserved 2-0 lead. Dorkinians dug deep and kept this score line to half time thanks largely to some outstanding saves from Henry Warne in the home goal.
A penalty conceded shortly after half time sealed the game and the relentless possession and a number of outstanding finishes gave a final tally of 6-0 to Hamps.

A resolute Harry Lynn, along with the aforementioned Morley and Warne continued to give their best efforts but the side was largely negated and squandered possession frequently.

A harsh wake up but only fair to say that they won’t face this excellent quality every week.
