Another week of European football for Scottish clubs brought a mixed bag of results and some Hotline callers believe there's been reputational damage inflicted.

There's also a few calls for the Ianis Hagi fan club and a clamour for the frozen out Rangers man to be given a game.

Andrew Lamb, Fraserburgh, said: "Despite all the optimism surrounding Scottish clubs in Europe, the bottom line is that there was not one single win for any of our top four clubs this week. Aberdeen deserve praise for a good away draw and Lawrence Shankland is a much improved player but that's about it."

Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: "Hotline caller Henry Moffat says the Scottish league had respect down south until Rangers and Hibs took a doing in the last 12 months I’d like to kindly remind Henry that Celtic haven’t won a game in Europe in nearly two calendar years, prior to that they were regularly getting beaten by Hungarian dishwashers and a team made up of scrabble letters, which is some going for a team full of supposedly £20million and £30m players. I can’t see this changing unless they’re allowed to take Scottish officials into Europe with them."

Alan Flett, said: "Why should Hibs be embarrassed about losing 5-0 v Aston Villa? Given the financial gulf between the two clubs, surely the result was to be expected. What’s really embarrassing, is Celtic losing to the likes of Cluj, Ferencvaros and Bodo/Glimt and going out of three European competitions in the same season. Shameful!

Stephen Mulhern, said: "I was surprised to hear Brendan Rodgers' negative comments in saying that Celtic are weaker than last season. He should be saying he backs his current side to put things right after the disappointing display at Rugby Park. By admitting they are weaker will give a belief to the St Johnstone team they can take something out of Saturday's match."

Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said: "If Celtic sign the Honduran Luis Palma it looks as if Rodgers is going to end up with a million wingers again. I wonder if any of them fancy playing centre half for three months and if the offers for Matt O’Riley are double figure millions I’d be taking it. He's a fantastic player with the best first touch in the league but lacking the physicality for Scotland and the Champions League."

Charles Buchanan, said: "Celtic are now without Cameron Carter-Vickers for a spell and Carl Starfelt has moved on so we have no central defence as such. We have a ropey left back and right back so we need new signings in quickly. We haven't been playing that well and need to win against St.johnstone as we can't go to Ibrox the week after with all these injuries and expect to win."

Mark Smith, Cumbernauld, said: "I agree with the Hotline's George Lawsons over his Hagi comment about him coming back from that horrific injury and making a difference when he comes on the pitch. He's not getting much game time, never mind a start and it shows Beale doesn’t fancy him. Give the Guy a break Michael."

Jimmy Mac, Glasgow, said: "Beale is wrong and appears to have a personal issue with Hagi who is one of the best attacking midfielders in Ibrox. If Beale insists on forcing Hagi out of Rangers, thousands of supporters could hold Beale in contempt by not doing what's the best for the team and club by not keeping our best players but persevering with players who have not shown they even deserve to be in the team or the squad for that matter."

Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, said: "I wholeheartedly agree with caller George Lawson who said Hagi should be in the side. He's got the skill to take on and beat defenders but looks like he's had a fallout with Beale and now they're getting rid of him. That would be a bad mistake considering the four signings they got to replace him and the large amount of money spent on them with very little return so far."

Neil Renton, Leith, said: "I’m hoping Hearts don’t ever get into the dog walking industry. They’d be terrible at it as they’re always losing leads."

Paul Price, Belfast, said: "Fair play to Barry Ferguson for admitting Celtic should have had a penalty last Sunday at Kilmarnock although given our injury list, the League Cup would have meant extra matches we can do without. I'm not taking anything away from Killie but it was as blatant a penalty as you'll see."
