The Ridin’ High/National Cowboy Association Annual Rodeo will be held the weekend of Nov. 10-11 at the Walters State Community College Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center in White Pine.
Each night’s activities begin at 7:30 p.m.
The rodeo totally funds the Ridin’ High Therapeutic Horse Program. Ridin’ High promotes the well-being, functional abilities and personal development of people with physical, emotional or cognitive challenges through equine-assisted activities.
“Now in our 31st year of operation, this rodeo is our main source of funding,” Program Director Linda Bird said. “We are passionate about helping challenged individuals reach their goals. To do so, we’ve assembled a qualified team of experienced staff, helpful volunteers and trained therapy horses.”
The rodeo provides teams of cowboys and cowgirls events each night in the National Cowboy Association. Events include saddle bronc, bareback, calf roping, team roping, cowgirls’ break-away, cowgirls’ barrel racing and bull riding.
A bicycle will be given away each night to the best-dressed cowboy or cowgirl, ages 6-under. The winner will be chosen by audience applause.
The rodeo provides great family entertainment, including a silent auction, vendors, mechanical bull riding and great food.
