The entire board of directors from an all-girls private school in Victoria has resigned over financial issues at the school.

In an email sent to parents at St. Margaret’s School on Monday night, the school said the board – including the chair – resigned “due to financial distress, which could not be resolved by the current team.”

A new board chair has been appointed effective immediately, according to St. Margaret’s.

An alumna of the school, Karen Clark Cole, was named the new board chair and will try to rebuild the board team and implement a new growth strategy.

The school describes Cole as an experienced corporate CEO who is “an entrepreneur, girls advocate, and innovative thinker.”

The school says it’s not providing any more details on the matter, and the former board chair did not return CHEK News’ request for comment Tuesday.
