What is training like?

Training sessions are held four times a week, with each session having a slightly different emphasis.

Each session will begin with aerobics. This will be either tae-bo (martial techniques to music) or a traditional jogging warmup. Following this we will stretch to help avoid injuries and improve kicking. The group will then be split according to ability, and we will practice kicking against targets and other techniques.

What does each session focus on?

The Sunday session is normally geared up for the beginners as this tends to be the time Freshers find easiest to turn up without being hungover...

Last year the Tuesday session began to concentrate on improving members' overall fitness, meaning the normal tae-bo was replaced by circuit training.

Wednesday is split into two, the first session is a slightly shorter version of the Sunday class with a leaning towards non-contact sparring techniques. The later session follows from the first but involves "padding up". Contact techniques are practiced (excluding the head) before short spars are held between similarly experienced members.
