Each full week of the spring season, BoCoPreps will highlight 10 teams and 10 athletes that had exceptional performances. While our staff will utilize multiple avenues to compile these lists, readers are encouraged to submit nominations to our email (results@bocopreps.com).

10 teams

Boulder girls tennis: The Panthers beat Legacy to open the spring season last Tuesday, getting straight-set wins from singles players Sandra Redak, Tessa Botha and Jessie LeBlang.

Erie boys track and field: The Tigers took first at the Lyons Unlimited meet last Wednesday, beating second-place Broomfield by 42 points. Evan Kraus won the 800-meter run (2:10.80) and the 1,600 (4:42.79), Will Pringle the long jump (21 feet and 2 1/4 inches) and triple jump (40-2.50), and Blake Barnett won the 100 (11.20) and took second in the 200 (22.66).

Fairview girls tennis: The Knights beat Mountain Range and Prairie View last week, improving to 3-1 on the season. Sophomore Lena Rakkah won at both No. 2 doubles and 3 singles. Other sophomore, Abigail Ho, won at 3 doubles and 2 singles.

Frederick track and field: Both its boys and girls won at the Frederick’s Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Gracie Wilts won the high jump (4-feet, eight inches) and took second in the long jump (14-7) to lead the girls. Brandt Hartman won the 1,600 (5:07.16) and took second in the high jump (5-2) for the boys.

Legacy girls soccer: The Lightning, ranked sixth in the Class 5A coaches poll this week, beat 4A No. 1 Northfield 3-1 on Friday. Sophomore Kendall Hiatt had two goals and 5A’s goals leader from last spring, Kendall Rippley, had the other.

Longmont baseball: Jacob Moats continued his strong start to the spring last week, delivering four RBIs in a 13-3 win over the Far Northeast Warriors Tuesday, then pitching to his second win on the mound against California school Foothill Christian Saturday. The Trojans are 3-0.

LOVELAND ??

Mead track and field: The Mavericks had a few impressive performances at the Murray Kula Invitational on Saturday. Tavon Underwood won the the 200-meter dash in 21.15 seconds, which is the top time in the state and 20th nationally, per MileSplit. Reigning Class 4A cross country champ Nolan Hoffman won the 3,200 in 9:30.14, the third-best mark in state. On the girls’ side, Frances Hudson won the 3,200 in the state’s sixth-best time (11:39.10) and Marlee Morris won discus with the fourth-longest throw in the state at 116-feet, 6 inches.

Niwot boys track and field: Among wins at the Thornton Early Bird Wednesday, Ben Classen won the 200-meter dash (22.24 seconds, fourth-fastest in the state) and the 400 (48.85, fastest in the state). Eric Walker won the 110 hurdles (14.64, second-fastest) and the 300 hurdles (40.65, sixth). Kye Toothaker won the 800 (2:00.94, 12th), Henry Stauch won the triple jump (43-5.50, sixth) and the Cougars also took the 4×100 (43.58) and 4×200 (1:30.85).

Peak to Peak girls soccer: The Pumas, ranked ninth in Class 3A, beat DSST: Green Valley Ranch 6-0 Tuesday, then followed it with a 1-0 result over 4A Centaurus Thursday.

Silver Creek boys swimming: The Raptors beat Monarch and Broomfield in duals last week. Stephen Codevilla had wins in the 100-yard butterfly, 100 freestyle and 200 IM. Chayakorn Ngampatipatpong won the 100 breaststroke and 100 free and Joshua Dowlin won the dive event at both meets.

10 athletes

Austen Bauer, Jefferson Academy baseball: The sophomore struck out 16 in a 4-2 win over Fort Lupton Thursday. It was one shy of the school record, per JA.

Addy Colangelo, Broomfield girls soccer: In shutout wins over Arapahoe and Ralston Valley, Colangelo tallied nine saves for 5A No. 2 Broomfield.

JJ Davis, Skyline track and field: Davis had a couple career performances at the Murray Kula Invitational Saturday. He won the javelin event with a toss of 147 feet and 9 inches, the best in the state. His discus throw of 131-5 was 19th-best in the state.

Ashtin Gilio, Dawson baseball: The Georgetown commit went 5 for 5 last week with a homer, two triples and five RBIs. On the year, Gilio leads the state in slugging (2.833) as he’s 6 for 6 with six extra-base hits, six walks and one hit-by-pitch.

Ava Hickey, Fairview girls golf: The junior shot 5-over-par 77 at the Chilly Chili Invitational at Eagle Trace Golf Club, finishing fifth.

Cami Johnson, Fairview girls lacrosse: The University of California-Davis commit had 15 goals and 19 points in three games last week. The Knights are 2-1.

Graysen Jolly, Monarch boys lacrosse: Jolly had 12 points in two games last week, giving him a state-best 21 in four games. He leads the state’s assist list by six with 15.

Jon Lesker, Centaurus baseball: Lesker had five hits and two stolen bases across two wins last week.

Denali Levin, Silver Creek girls soccer: The senior, who led the team in goals last year, scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Boulder Tuesday.

Noelle Thompson, Peak to Peak girls golf: The senior finished just shy of the 13-year tournament record at the Chilly Chili Invitational, carding 1-under 71.
