A Day to Remember

27 youth members, 4 of which were U12 goalies, plus their team managers and our band of supportive parents travelled to our neighbours in Tring for a friendly U12 and U10 tournament. Prepared for an afternoon of rehearsing set plays, using the width of the pitch and striking on goal. The U12 Boys concentrated on 16s using the wide channels and moving up and down the pitch as a team. The U12 Girls focussed on their strong, accurate passing play and confident ball carrying skills. This was replicated in the U10s 9 aside team too, once the challenge had been set to see who could win the most Haribos (other brands are available) for playing out wide they then realised how wide the pitch actually was, what a revelation! Plenty of positives from the day, numerous attacks on goal, amazing clearances from our band of goalies (who certainly put a shift in) and some strong defensive tackles from our backs. By the end of the afternoon all teams were totally transformed, so many outstanding performances to mention but a day of real team effort, certainly one to remember!
